Christmas time tends to bring a magical good mood and the importance of warm spices amps up quite a bit. The winters are favourite time, where windows are thrown open through the day, hot cocoa can be freely sipped on, warm cinnamon rolls come out for breakfast and really, everything gets its way around! Plus the cozy sweaters help hid any bulges!
So I bring this sable recipe for you. A sable translates to ‘sand’ in French, which is due to it’s crumbly texture and instant melt-in-your-mouth when you eat them. These are mini sables, which I rolled the dough into cylinder-form, and simply slice up when I want to bake them. I went an extra mile to roll them in castor sugar for a bit of extra sweetness. For the spice blend, I added Nature Therapy Chai Masala – a perfect warming hand-pounded masala of cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, ginger and mace. But I also add an additional teaspoon of cinnamon because I think it does justice.
Go ahead, make this within no time at all – about 10 minutes to make the dough, a 30 minute rest, 7 minutes to bake!
