Sourcing the perfect cherries is tough around here, particularly the nice big juicy ones! But the best time to look for these is in the winter months.
The dark wine red juices ooze out into the milked oats and give a deep intense flavour that lingers in your mouth for long after. If the kids are still not convinced add a few chocolate chips or M&Ms/Gems and I can assure you they will be gulped down.
I personally love following it up with a hot cup of cappuccino – I’m in a much better mood after!
The Recipe
Serves Serves: 1 | Prep time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons of Quaker unrefined oats
- ¼ cup diced cherries
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar OR honey
- 1 tbsp of sliced pistachios
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients together and mix.
- Let it soak overnight in the fridge.
- In the morning:
- Mix ingredients together with a spoon before eating
