Hot honey – sweet natural honey, enter spicy hot red chilies and you’ve got a match made in heaven!

Hot honey is basically honey, warmed up, brought to a simmer or boil just once with a load of chilies – Thai bird chilies are my poison – or any kind of dried chili flakes works. Allow to cool, or simply drizzle over whatever you like. Hot honey goes with fresh fruits, on avocado, avocado toast (ask Kylie Jenner – she swears by adding honey and chili flakes separately over the toast), eggs, plain toast with cream cheese, French toast, khakhra, grilled cheese sandwich, bake dishes or roasts, grilled veggies…

Honey: Nature Therapy Eucalyptus Honey

The Recipe
Serves 1/4 cup

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 4-5 thai bird chilies, crushed
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients together and place on stovetop and bring to a boil
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool down
  • Store in airtight container at room temperature
  • Shelf life: 1 month
